Holiday Wishes

I have now posted my wish list at holiday_wishes. It's my second year and last year was great fun and I think you all should join!

Of course I will post the rules and my list in here as well ^^



Rules

STEP ONE

Make a post (public, friends-locked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV"). The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) can get in touch with you. Your home address is not required!

Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO

Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part...

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes one person's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. You'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My wishes
It looks a lot like last year's actually (haha, I even copied some points)

Donations or helpful actions towards HIV/AIDS related causes, since that is the "cause" that somehow has become the one I feel most for. I don't know anyone affected personally but still it' the cause that "touches" me the most and that I try to work for. May it be donating money, helping out in organisations, reading up on the subject and spread information (because infomation is important)... become aware. Maybe get yourself a red ribbon, or buy your christmas gifts from ALDO fight AIDS or Until There's A Cure (I myself would gladly recieve gifts from those, but the important thing isn't that I get a bracelet, it's that the war against HIV/AIDS gets more funding)... or anything else you might come across. Help is certainly needed.

Geeky things. General geekiness (well, at least general space-related geekiness) or more "special" geekiness (my interests listed on LJ should reflect my special geekdoms, but for example Star Wars, Farscape, Firefly, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, X-Files) May it be toys, other small things, books, comics, movies, t-shirts. Old or new certainly doesn't matter for any of it... Have toys from when you were a kid that just isn't getting the love they deserve? I will give them a happy home XD
But yeah, anything geeky ^^

Robot stuff. Ok, this kinda goes into the above point but I thought it deserves a point of it's own. I love robots XD Androids, cyborgs, regular ol trashcans with a brain, bioloids, biomechanoids, synthetics... I can keep going. May it be toys, jewelry, shirts, bags, art...

And time for that unavoidable Amazon wishlist... containing music, movies/tv and books. However, I don't care if they are used. Maybe you don't listen to Bruce Springsteen anymore and want to get rid of an album or two? Maybe you bought Wedding Wars on dvd by mistake? Yeah you get my drift, I'll happily take care of them ^.~ (I'm not interested in burnt copies or anything like that though)

Candy. I have a sweet-tooth that is way too big for my own good XD But also, I am interested to see (and taste of course) candy and snacks from around the world, it a part of culture ^^ And if someone can find Pocky G (the extra hard chocolate Pocky stick dipped in dark chocolate) I will be so very happy.

Head accessories. I love wearing things on my head... the last couple of months I've used a lot of scarves for example. But hats and such are equally awsome. I have short hair though, so ribbons and clips and such don't really work. Also, I tend to have bright red/orangey/slightly pink hair... if you think about colours that is. And I have anormal (medium I suppose) sized head ^^

Snail mail! Postcards, letters, whatever... you can't imagine how happy I become when finding something with my name on it in the R-Z box at the entrance hall at school. Sadly it almost never happens.

For everyone to have amazing holidays... may it be Christmas, Chanukka, Yule, Kwanzaa, something completely different or just the winter ^^



When it comes to sizes in shirts I would be an S in regular fitted men's tees and M in women's babydoll
For jewelry and such: I have small wrists, close to child size, and my neck is quite small too (not very small though)


I will spend Christmas and New Years with my parents, but if you want to send me things do it to school anyway ^^
