I'm often the corrupter in that I coerce people to watch things, but I'm not in the shipping department, so I know what you mean. hehe. And yes, I'm generally very much a canon girl because I tend to respect the writers' authority to take a given character down a path and, if there's a romance along the way, I root for them when I like it. The trouble with SPN is that they haven't given us a whole lot of canon!ships (at least, not any that have lasted more than an episode) and those that they have given us seem to be tied up with caveats lately, so it's very easy to ship pairings that we know will never directly be given to us. I'm convinced the SPN writers want to turn us all into hardcore masochists. And I'm not blind. <--- :D That, too.
