Haha yeah. I'm usually the corrupter. Well not for ships cause I seem to only ship completely canon nowadays. You know, agreeing with the script and cheering for some couple. But with all the Dean/Cas I get showered with from certain people it's hard to resist. And I'm not blind *laugh*

I'm often the corrupter in that I coerce people to watch things, but I'm not in the shipping department, so I know what you mean. hehe. And yes, I'm generally very much a canon girl because I tend to respect the writers' authority to take a given character down a path and, if there's a romance along the way, I root for them when I like it. The trouble with SPN is that they haven't given us a whole lot of canon!ships (at least, not any that have lasted more than an episode) and those that they have given us seem to be tied up with caveats lately, so it's very easy to ship pairings that we know will never directly be given to us. I'm convinced the SPN writers want to turn us all into hardcore masochists. And I'm not blind. <--- :D That, too.

Yeah same here. And I've always been. I remember when I was around 13 and told my friend about these awesome fantasy books I had just read. She had to read them and went from reading just teenage horse books to proper fantasy XD And form there it just went on.

I think with the shipping I might just have been lucky for quite a while. My favourite shows weren't afraid of actually putting the mains together, or having stable relationships. And they just gave us so much, that I just couldn't wish for anything else you know? My OTP of all OTPs got it on mid s1. Then there was problems along the way and it was a bit on and off (with the wonders of sci fi meaning people actually died and came back). Some happy times, some not so happy times. But still actual proper relationship struggle going on all throughout the series and with so much given to us (from joy to serious serious angst) that we didn't even need fanfic. And then my other favourite show had my ship freakin married at the end of s2 (of four) XD

But with SPN... they are quite dependent on eachother and well... last time Cas graced the screen they pretty much made it at least one sided canon *laugh*

oh and the SPN writes doesn't even have to work to make me a hardcore tv masochist. I'm the kind of girl who can take out her favourite shows or movies and just watch the parts that make me cry XD If the season finale of SPN doesn't have me in tears I will get angry.

As for shipping in general, when they give us something awsome like the ships in BSG and Farscape I don't need anything else. Usually though we arn't that lucky...

I know... both Farscape and BSG just gave us everything we needed. I would never read fic for those for example. It's just so unnecessary. I think what made them work so well was that we got all the love as well as the angst and everything in between. And not just at the end, but all through the show. They weren't afraid of letting the main characters get it on mid series.

Oh gods... vidding. I'm glad I don't feel tempted by that anymore. Icons and fanmixes are enough. I've made one fanvid, and that took like all night. We did match it perfectly to the lyrics of the song but it I don't particularily feel like doing it again. And we had it easy, a lot of the clips we used were actually available as clips. Vidding just takes much longer than you think when you start.
